R507A  Introduction

R507 is an HFC-based, azeotropic refrigerant blend, widely used as a replacement for R502 in commercial refrigeration. It consists of R125 and R143a, offering zero ozone depletion potential (ODP).

Its key applications include low and medium-temperature systems like supermarket display cases, walk-in coolers, and transport refrigeration. R507 provides excellent cooling capacity and energy efficiency, performing similarly to R404A but with a slightly lower global warming potential (GWP).

As a non-ozone depleting substance, it is a reliable choice for new equipment, though its high GWP is leading to a gradual phase-down in favor of more sustainable alternatives. Proper handling by certified professionals is mandatory.
